Travel insurance for over 65s advisory site launched

Retirees enjoying their twilight years with regular trips abroad can benefit from a new website designed to inform them about travel insurance for over 65s.

The website, 65 Travel Insurance, aims to provide detailed information, reviews and comparisons to help senior holidaymakers identify the best deal for them.

Citing recent research from Karma Insurance, it explained that elderly couples can be left with something of a raw deal if they do not spend time identifying the best holiday insurance deal for their needs.

In fact, a policy for two to Spain, which could cost as little as £20 for under 60s, can rocket to as much as £209 if the travellers are aged 65 and 66.

"By shopping around and reviewing each travel insurer people over 65 no longer have to pay above the odds," 65 Travel Insurance stated.

Meanwhile, it was suggested by the Ski Club of Great Britain last week that skiers from the UK will continue to head over to the top European resorts this winter, despite the weakening value of the pound against the euro. ADNFCR-1320-ID-18970049-ADNFCR
