Travellers from Leeds Bradford Airport are seeking out more unusual destinations, according to airline Flight schedules have been expanded to include destinations tailored to the more mature or cultural traveller, such as Russia, Morocco and Iceland, as the airline seeks to meet the changing demands of its customer base.

While the destinations and the customer demographic may be slowly changing, the need to secure specific senior travel insurance has not, but a spokeswoman did acknowledge that they were moving along with the demands of evolving customers. The airline commented: "We're finding Yorkshire travellers are wanting more unusual, culture-rich destinations, which is why we launched our Discovery Weekends to St Petersburg, Marrakech and Reykjavik in Iceland."

The company's annual What's Hot report was compiled for 2013 from booking data and surveys of the impending holiday plans of 1,000 customers. However, while the horizons are widening for many customers, the research showed that Spain and the Balearic Islands were still the most popular destinations for Yorkshire's travellers, and countries such as Croatia continue to grow in popularity.
