Terminal 5 recovery 'a highlight of 2008'

The opening of Heathrow's Terminal 5 has been selected by the Telegraph as one of the travel highlights of the year.
According to the newspaper, the troubled British Airways terminal building, which opened in March to absolute chaos, "has finally found its feet".
The big travel insurance news following its opening was the fact that thousands of passengers were suffering from cancelled flights and lost bags every day.
But despite highlighting the need for holiday insurance, the terminal has managed to come good - with a recent poll of Telegraph readers suggesting that 80 per cent now feel positive about T5.
Among its other highlights of the year, the newspaper chose the failure of the credit crunch to deter people from booking their next holidays and the strong year enjoyed by Eurostar.
According to research by ebookers.com, as many as four in five British people feel that the recession will have no effect on their holiday plans in 2009.
