Travel advice for holiday revellers

An American family holiday insurance company has issued advice for travellers heading abroad this year.
According to Travel Guard, people flying overseas are often anxious about delays or cancellations to their flights, lost travel documents or luggage and medical emergencies.
In order to cut down the risk of running into problems, it urged travellers to ship any gifts or expensive items rather than keeping them in their luggage.
It also advised that holidaymakers taking short breaks pack wisely so they can carry on their luggage and remove the risk of losing bags.
Booking direct flights can also be a great help as it prevents holidaymakers from possibly missing connections and having to rebook flights.
Although these tips do not replace the need for annual travel insurance, they can reduce a lot of the stress that often goes hand-in-hand with travelling.
Recently, website Cruise Critic urged holidaymakers to buy souvenirs that reflect the interest and hobbies of the intended recipients.
