Travel insurance firms must promote industry success

Travel insurance and holiday companies must do their part to "instil public confidence" if people are to keep travelling during these harsh economic times.
That is the conclusion drawn recently by the Institute of Travel and Tourism, which suggested that companies which are doing well in the travel industry need to promote themselves in a successful light.
Claire Steiner, director of education and training at the association, explained: "Everyone says domestic travel is picking up, some say business travel is suffering, some say it isn't; long haul people are saying it's better and so are short haul.
"Some companies are doing alright and are promoting that they are doing alright which is key. We have to instil public confidence."
With companies posting such mixed results of the sector's performance, it is no surprise that an annual report from AA Appointments suggested that most companies in the travel sector have put their recruitment plans on freeze this year.
