Winter wanderers urged to check insurance

Thousands of holidaymakers planning on jetting overseas this Christmas have been urged to ensure they have the right travel insurance before they take off.
According to online comparison website Confused.com anyone failing to act beforehand may find themselves in financially dire straits should anything go wrong on their holiday break.
Those hoping to hit the slopes will need a special winter sports travel insurance policy, while older holidaymakers might want to consider travel insurance for over 65's.
Steve Williams, travel expert at the website, explained: "Confused.com would certainly suggest shopping around to find the most suitable policy on the market, while also bearing in mind added-extras, such as scheduled airline failure cover.
"While finding a cheap price is important, choosing a policy with suitable cover and benefits is advised," he added.
Mr Williams also advised travellers to make flight ticket purchases with a credit card as they provide customers with added financial protection should a cancellation arise.
Earlier this month, the company suggested that mp3 players, laptops and mobile phones lost or stolen on holiday can be claimed for but the lost data and files cannot.
It urged travellers to ensure that their music, videos and documents are backed up before leaving home.
