Holidaymakers planning ahead for travel insurance

A growing number of holidaymakers are booking their flights and annual travel insurance policies in advance to cut back on the costs, it has been revealed.
According to European travel portal trivago, people are increasingly looking to find the best rates on their holiday products and planning ahead so that they have plenty of time to compare a range of different offers.
Sian Williams, UK country manager for the website, explained that people are looking for cheaper holiday destinations as well - doing so can enable people to save money without having to scrimp on important things such as holiday insurance.
"People are looking to find the best rates for their holiday and people really seem to be trying to plan ahead and compare all the offers. We've seen an incredible growth in visitors to the site," said Ms Williams.
According to a trivago survey published in January, 75 per cent of Brits are planning to reduce their holiday budget in 2009.
