Travel insurance 'as important as your suitcase'

According to the professional body, renewing your annual travel insurance or taking out a new policy should be as high up your list of priorities as remembering your suitcase.
Biba spokesman Graeme Trudgill said that trying to save money by not forking out for the protection is a "false economy" which could in fact end up costing someone thousands of pounds.
"The thing about travel insurance is you get ever such a lot for not much money," he asserted, dismissing suggestions that European Health Insurance Cards offer sufficient protection.
Speaking further on the subject, Mr Trudgill added: "Travel insurance is as important as your suitcase, as I always say you just really need to take it with you. If you don't, it's a false economy."
Recent research by uSwitch.com found that four out of ten Brits have cancelled insurance or pension contributions as part of an effort to lower their outgoings.
