Kerala's first 18-hole golf course is scheduled to be thrown open to the public in September next year.
A new golf course being built in Kerala is expected to become one of India's leading tourist attractions.
This course will have 18 holes, the first of its kind in the southern Indian city.
The first phase of the project saw nine holes build along with an additional practice fairway. The developer is already working on the next nine holes.
Managing Director of CIAL, V. J. Kurian said other facilities in the pipeline include a permanent practice range and a fully-fledged club house with various 'golfer and non-golfer' amenities.
Mr Kurian added: "Once the project is commissioned, we expect to draw major golfers from round the world to here by conducting tournaments of international standards."
On completion, the golf course will have a total playing area of around 7,200 yards and is set to open for people in September next year.
As part of the second phase of the project, the developer plans to build an academy to provide extensive training for public keen to learn the game.
Golf enthusiasts would be well-advised to take out comprehensive
