The French ski resort of La Plagne is organising a host of events for visitors
Tourists taking flights to the French ski resort of La Plagne next month can take part in a host of events organised to mark the destination's 50th anniversary celebrations.
La Plagne will celebrate its official birthday on December 21 with live shows and a visual display to provide insight into the history of skiing.
Tourists planning to celebrate New Year's Eve in the resort can head to the Plagne-Bellecote area, which will turn into a huge dance floor from 10pm to 2am.
Next year, events such as the Ice Climbing World Cup and the Urban Plagne Festival will be held in La Plagne.
The 2012 Ice Climbing World Cup will take place on February 3 and 4.
Holidaymakers visiting the resort in April, possibly after taking out a good
sports travel insurance policy, can attend the Urban Plagne Festival, which is in its fifth year.
The festival gives professional skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to create, produce and direct a short film showcasing their freestyle tricks and skills.
