Missoula in Montana is set to host the Treasure State Shred Fest event
Travellers planning to go on a holiday to Montana can visit Missoula as the city is set to host a 'shred fest' this month.
Burton Snowboard and Edge of the World together have organised the Treasure State Shred Fest at Missoula's Caras Park on October 22 for visitors interested in adventure sports.
They have arranged to bring in snow from the Missoula Glacier Ice Rink, and Lost Trail Powder Mountain has set up freestyle snow features.
Event coordinator James Fleege said: "We get the snow from Missoula Glacier Ice Rink. A dump truck picks up about 20 yards of snow, and we use human labour carrying garbage can loads to put it in the right spot."
The event will also launch two new rails for the resort. The Shred Fest's features also include a 20-foot stair set with a down rail on one side and a 12-inch box on the bottom followed by an A-frame quarter pipe.
Those keen to participate in the event might wish to invest in
sports travel insurance for their safety.
Spectators at the event can watch 50 riders on the snow features and at the same time enjoy music as three DJs will be performing live.
