A links golf course designed by Colin Montgomerie has been named among Asia's best
Vietnam has taken another step towards confirming its reputation as Asia's leading golf destination with the inclusion of the Colin Montgomerie Links course to a prestigious list of the most exclusive courses in Asia. The Forbes Travel Guide list of Asia's 10 Most Elite Golf Courses included the course, close to Danang City, alongside luxury courses in Bali, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand after it was recommended as the top course in Vietnam at the Asia Pacific Golf Summit last December.
The links course was designed by the Ryder Cup-winning captain and has attracted universal praise since opening three years ago. Within a year the course had been crowned the best in Vietnam by a national golf magazine, as an increasing number of tourists take out
sports travel insurance policies to cover a golfing holiday to Asia.
"Inclusion in the Forbes Travel Guide list is another milestone for the course and facilities, including the Estates villas development, in an area that has quickly become recognised as the place to play golf in Vietnam," said Montgomerie Links' general director, Jon Tomlinson. "Nowhere else in Asia has the combination of wonderful coastal land that is perfect for golf, beautiful beaches, cultural attractions and new high quality tourism infrastructure."
