A ski resort in Colorado is celebrating its 50th anniversary this month
Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado is celebrating its 50th anniversary this month.
Holidaymakers visiting Breckenridge this weekend can enjoy a series of events planned for the occasion.
The actual birthday date will fall on December 16, but resort representatives have said that the birthday festivities will continue throughout the season and the occasion will be marked by a focus on the guest and the guest experience.
In honour of the resort's birthday, the Town of Breckenridge is organising a special Breck Birthday Bash.
The bash will include a free concert by Los Lobos, a procession of local ski legends through town, champagne toast and fireworks.
The anniversary celebration also coincides with the start of the 2011 Winter Dew Tour, Breckenridge's most popular annual events.
Ski enthusiasts planning to try the mountains at Breckenridge should also get their
sports travel insurance ready in time for the resort's birthday celebration.
For the occasion of the resort's birthday, Budweiser has also created a commemorative Breck 50th Anniversary Ale.
