Golf-loving holidaymakers planning trips to the US may be interested to hear about the latest services on offer at The Forest Country Club.

The club, situated in south Fort Myers in Florida, will soon have an intricate entryway and talks are being held to renovate its 45,000-square-foot clubhouse this summer.

All the facilities at the 32-year-old club are being improved keeping in mind the requirements of golfing enthusiasts.

Activity-motivated travellers would be well advised to ensure they have a comprehensive sports travel insurance policy before embarking on foreign journeys.

Last summer, the club's Bear golf course underwent a $2.5 million (£1.53m) refurbishment with new greens, 14 acres of natural areas, a modern driving range as well as a new irrigation system.

Chris Bruhnke, general manager for the club, said: "The irrigation system saves approximately 30% more water at the sprawling, 18-hole "Carolinas-style" championship course."

Bruhnke added that the clubs' second course will also be updated within a couple of years.

With its palms and waterways, visitors to the the course known as 18-hole Bobcat, will experience a more Florida feel.
