Increasing numbers of British golfers are playing Vietnam's courses
Two golf courses on Vietnam's central coast are locking horns to be named the country's best, which can only be good news for British holidaymakers with a liking for the sport.
Increasing numbers of golfers from the UK are taking golfing holidays in Vietnam, at courses such as the two vying for the top title - the Montgomerie Links and the Danang Golf Club. However, they are reminded that ahead of teeing off they'll be best-placed by arranging some
sports travel insurance first.
The Montgomerie Links, near Danang, scooped the national award for the best course in Vietnam last December, while neighbouring Danang Golf Club was crowned the best new course in the Asia-Pacific region.
But one of the world's leading golf magazines disagrees.
US Golf Digest muddied the waters by naming Danang Golf Club as Vietnam's best, with Montgomerie sliding down to third.
Ben Styles, general manager at Danang Golf Club, said: "We are proud of this distinction and will continue to deliver the best course conditions in the region.
"Greg Norman designed a truly unique golf course that has been recognised officially as one of his best."
