Nearly 100 water skiers marked 60 years of the Tommy Bartlett Ski Show
The Tommy Bartlett Ski Show alumni celebrated its 60th anniversary with a stunning display on the shores of Lake Delton, Wisconsin, last weekend.
Almost 100 alumni water skiers took part in the annual show to mark six decades of show-boating, which has surely seen more than a few participants test their
sports travel insurance polices in that time.
The majority of the alumni skiers were more than 70 years old, with an evergreen Glen Sperry remaining as keen as ever to show off his water-skiing skills and even set a record for skiing on seven-foot tall stilts.
"I actually got a pair that are 10ft 5, but I ride those on a rare occasion," said Sperry, who also revealed that the camaraderie shared between the riders was one of the main reasons they kept coming back over the years.
