Skiers 'urged to check the smallprint'

The Ski Club of Great Britain has warned skiers and snowboarders to check their winter sports travel insurance before hitting the slopes or risk facing snowballing bills.
According to the association, it is crucial to ensure that you take out a ski and snowboarding travel insurance policy rather than a generic one that may not provide adequate cover for your needs.
A survey by the club revealed that 34 per cent of skiers are taking to the slopes with insurance that only covers them for basics or without any protection at all.
Alyn Morgan, information manager of the Ski Club of Great Britain, said that many people think they can risk going on holiday without taking out the necessary insurance.
“The key is to read the small print and make sure your policy covers you for all the activities you will be taking part in," he added.
With so many people departing the country in the run-up to Christmas, officials from Stansted Airport recently advised travellers to ensure they fully understand the rules and regulations of airports before arriving.
