Travellers 'cannot afford' to pass on ski insurance

Those looking for ways to reduce the cost of their skiing holiday this winter have been warned that winter sports travel insurance is one thing they cannot do without.
According to Andy Taylor, director of Go Travel Insurance, it is understandable that winter sports enthusiasts are trying to find ways to cut the costs of their holidays given the morose economic outlook that has gripped the nation.
However, he stressed that a travel insurance policy, which extends to all appropriate levels of activity, could end up being much cheaper in the long run, and that going without could prove to be a "false economy".
Mr Taylor said: "Unfortunately bad things can easily happen on this type of holiday so you should ensure you have insurance for all the activities you might enjoy on holiday.
"Just having the peace of mind alone is worth paying the insurance premium," he added.
Earlier this month, SmarterTravel.com's trip advisor Ed Perkins urged anyone interested in travel insurance for people with pre-existing medical conditions to carefully check the small print before buying a policy.
