Does World First offer all policy types to all destinations?

We have a range of different policies here at World First. And our flexible options are available to you no matter where you are going – as long as the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office isn't advising against travelling to your chosen destination.

What destination should I choose during the quote process?

There are six different location categories for you to choose from. Here's a quick breakdown of the countries included within each location category.

EUROPE EXCLUDING SPAIN:
Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan Azores, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Corfu, Corsica, Crete, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Eire (Republic of Ireland), Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guernsey, Holland (Netherlands), Hungary, Iceland, Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey, KOS (Greek Island), Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Rhodes, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Sardinia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vatican City.

Israel, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and anywhere else excluding the United States of America, Canada the Caribbean and Mexico.

WORLDWIDE INCLUDING USA, CARIBBEAN, CANADA & MEXICO:
Anywhere in the world.

AUSTRALASIA:
Australia, including Territory of Cocos (Keeling Islands, The Territory of Christmas Island, Norfolk Island and Lord How Island, and New Zealand, including the Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau.

Can I get cover if my holiday has already started?

We are only able to issue cover if you are still in the UK. But don't panic. If you are already abroad one of our specialist travel insurance partners should be able to help you. Take a look at our list of partners.

Do I need to have a return ticket to the UK?

Not necessarily! However if you don't have a return ticket booked, we will ask for one of the following to prove that you intend to return to the UK.

  • Confirmation of a college/university placement
  • Contract of employment in the UK with a commencement date
  • Rental agreement for a UK property
  • Consultant appointments in the UK
  • Court summons/appearances
  • Mortgage agreement for a UK property
  • Current home/contents insurance policy (in your name)
  • Proof of future travel bookings (such as flight bookings leaving from and returning to the UK)

Can I make changes to my policy?

Yes, no problem. Whether you want to change your dates of travel, your destination details or your cover limits, it's easy to make tweaks to your policy. Just call our customer service team on 0345 90 80 161 or use the link on our Contact Us page to request a call back.
