The NoMad hotel, Broadway, New York, was named hottest hotel bar in the 2014 Smith Hotel Awards
The world's best boutique hotels and top holiday resorts have been revealed at the second annual Smith Hotel Awards.
The votes of 20,000 public voters and industry experts were cast to name the best family hotel, best hotel pool, best bar and sexiest bedroom among the 950 properties in the Mr & Mrs Smith collection.
Whether it's the top spas, bedrooms or restaurants you're after on your travels, taking out travel insurance means you're sure to have peace of mind when settled into your luxury, hand-picked bolthole.
Writer and presenter Mariella Frostrup, chef Marcus Wareing, presenter Anna Richardson and singer-songwriter Jessie Ware made up some of the panels judging each of the 12 categories.
And the winners are....
The Riad El Fenn, Morocco
The Riad El Fenn took home the gong for best-dressed hotel. It was praised for its interior styling, which the judges described as paramount for any hotel, saying too niche a personality can be off-putting for guests to relax in.
But the Riad impressed judges by not being too formal or corporate for those wanting a stress-free stay.
Runners-up: Portrait Firenze in Florence; and Saffire in Australia.
Water Villa 5, Vietnam
If you're looking for the sexiest hotel bedroom which can delight, excite and surprise, head to the Six Senses Ninh Van Bay and ask for one of its Water Villas. They are set on the ocean and overlook a coral reef and offer seclusion and privacy.
Among the highlights are an infinity-edge plunge pool and a private ladder leading into the ocean. The judges described the suites as "ravishingly romantic" and "impossible to leave".
Runners-up: Suite 58 at Viceroy, New York; and The Roccia Suite at Bellevue Syrene, Italy.
The NoMad, New York
For the hottest hotel bar, where else but New York? Near to Broadway, The "scene-stealing" NoMad stole the show with its excellent bar staff, sophistication and "debonair design".
Runners-up: Ohla Hotel in Spain; and Shoreditch Rooms in London.
