BA has doubled its number of flights to Malaga
People flying to Spain from the south east of England this summer will have plenty of flights to choose from, it has been revealed.
British Airways has doubled its frequency of flights to Malaga and transferred the route from Heathrow to Gatwick Airport.
The new frequency will see passengers offered as many as four daily connections on certain days, with a total of 27 weekly flights available by June.
The move suggests that the travel insurance industry will be doing brisk business over the summer months.
Many holidaymakers heading for southern Spain and the Costa del Sol will touch down in Malaga before arriving at their hotel and hitting the beach.
Colm Lacy, BA's head of commercial at Gatwick, said: "We are delighted to be increasing the number of flights to Malaga from 14 services a week and moving the flight back from Heathrow to Gatwick.
"Malaga is an important route for our customers and we are delighted to add it to the excellent short-haul network we have at Gatwick."
