Low-cost airline easyJet has boosted its Scottish operation with the announcement of the country's only direct flight to Athens.
The service, which is due to begin on September 20, will see three flights heading from Edinburgh to the Greek capital on a weekly basis.
Extra flights from Edinburgh to Tenerife will also be on offer at the airport from September 19 after the airline announced it would be offering twice-weekly flights to the holiday hotspot and a new route to the ski gateway of Grenoble in south-east France is also due to be introduced to schedules.
The new announcements will boost the number of holidaymakers departing from Edinburgh who will want to make sure they have comprehensive
travel insurance cover before they take off.
Edinburgh Airport has also been boosted by an extra plane after easyJet announced it would provide it with a new 180-seat Airbus A320.
Hugh Aitken, the carrier's commercial manager for Scotland, said: "EasyJet is excited to announce the launch of three fantastic new routes including Scotland's only direct route to Athens, connecting Edinburgh - the Athens of the north - to the Greek capital. We are responding to customer demand, providing an even greater choice of city, sun and ski destinations from Edinburgh."
