Record amounts of cash spent by Brits in Europe

Travelling to destinations in Europe is becoming increasingly popular for British holidaymakers with huge amounts of money being splashed in countries on the continent.
The strength of the Euro means that people travelling abroad from the UK are spending record amounts in countries such as France, Spain and Germany.
Figures from M&S Travel Money show that even more money is expected to be spent later this month when tourists up and down the country jet off to Europe.
Manager Fraser Millar said: "The euro is our favourite form of holiday cash, accounting for 58 per cent of all currency sales in the UK.
"With the recent wintry weather at home, and an early start on the spring/summer season, 2008 could be another record year for the euro."
Travellers carrying around large amounts of money are warned to ensure they have adequate travel insurance, however, or risk being left short of cash on their trip.
