New high-speed rail to impact on Spanish holidays

Already a popular holiday destination, Spain looks set to become even more attractive with the introduction of a new high-speed train joining its two major tourist hotspots.
The railway links Barcelona and Madrid – and is expected to encourage even more UK travellers to head to Spain for the holidays.
Not only will the train allow people to get to and from the two cities with ease but, according to one property firm, will also help tourists travel to the beach more easily.
James Dearsley, European sales director for Atlas International, said: "The new train link probably will have an effect on other areas of the country like the Costa Blanca and the Costa Calida, all that area, in the way that it will get people from the cities to the coast a little bit quicker."
He added that the rail link will "increase that shift of people from the cities to the coast".
"Usually some people drive and some people fly so it may mean that the internal flights will be a little bit more quickly accessed," Mr Dearsley said.
Brits travelling to Spain this Easter are reminded to ensure they have travel insurance which covers them for any possible holiday mishap.
