Domestic breaks 'continue to be popular'

Trips within the UK continue to be a popular choice for British holidaymakers, new figures have showed.
According to findings from travelsupermarket.com, more than 12 million Brits went on a summer break within the UK this year, spurred on to take domestic breaks by the impact of the economic downturn.
Popular destinations for British holidaymakers included the Lake District, Cornwall and the Cotswolds.
Seaside towns such as Brighton, Bournemouth and Blackpool were also popular.
While Brits who take a break within the UK may have their mind on other things, such as checking the weather forecast to see whether the British rain will impact their trip, travel insurance should also remain at the top of their travel checklist, even for internal holidays.
A spokesperson from Visit Brighton said: "August this year was the busiest month in four years for people going to our visitor information centre and online bookings in July and August were the highest we've had for at least two years."
