Travellers to the UK may need visas

Tourists attempting to come to the UK under the new Schengen Visa in 2011 may want to make sure they are covered by travel insurance, in case they are turned back.
VisitBritain is urging the government to rethink the decision to opt out of the 29-country visa, which could potentially cause havoc visitors unaware that it does not cover them for all of Europe.
A spokesperson for the organisation said: "There is something called the Schengen Visa where by 2011, one year before the Olympic games, that Schengen Visa will cover 29 European countries but not Britain.
He added: "People will have to buy another visa to come to Britain."
The proposal tops a 'wish-list' the organisation is set to present to the government on improving tourism in the UK, and may prove especially pertinent given the expected tourist surge for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Travellers to the U.S. were recently warned by EssentialTravel.co.uk that tourists denied entry into the country due to not having sufficient documentation were unlikely to be covered by their travel insurance.
