Honeymooners looking to get worldwide travel insurance and jet off on a romantic post-wedding break are increasingly travelling to unusual destinations, it has been found.
According to findings from hitched.co.uk, this is mainly to do with couples seeking out the destinations which are easiest to reach.
A survey from travel agent sunshine.co.uk found that top of the list for honeymooners is the Seychelles, followed by Marrakech in Morocco.
Other destinations on the list included Bulgaria and Japan.
Commenting on the findings, commercial director at hitched.co.uk Darren Noel said: "More and more places are accessible like Mauritius, Seychelles and the Caribbean, so the honeymoon doesn't become a once in a lifetime trip anymore."
As well as this, Mr Noel noted that due to the high cost of a wedding, honeymooners are increasingly taking short holidays after their nuptials and saving up for a longer break later on.
Couples who plan to do this could find that getting a cheap annaul travel insurance policy which covers a whole year offers them the best value cover.
