Holidaymakers 'should take advantage of cheap currency'

Currency experts have named the best places for holidaymakers to travel to this summer if they want to make their money stretch further.
The strength of the euro against the pound and the turbulent economic climate has seen many British travellers decide against visiting popular European destinations such as Spain and France.
But according to Travelex.co.uk, there are plenty of places where families can make the most of their money despite the difficult financial conditions.
John Nicholas, director of the firm, said that eastern Europe, South Africa and the US are all good holiday destinations for cheap currency.
"Destinations within eastern Europe which still have their own currency such as Slovakia, Bulgaria and Croatia are continuing to gain popularity with tourists year on year as holiday makers travelling to these destinations find that they get a better value for their pound against the local currency," he said.
"General living costs are also lower in many of these destinations so money will certainly feel like it's going further than in typical Eurozone destinations."
