Italy 'ideal' for skiing holidays

Snow enthusiasts needn't look past Italy as an ideal holiday location for its food, wine and cultural offerings, snowbrainer.co.uk has reported.
Kate Whittaker, skiing expert, told the Times that British skiers looking for good snow cover in March should consider Italy, and that the quality of shopping, restaurants and culture added value to an overall ski holiday.
Skiers planning a trip to Europe are reminded by experts to take out adequate travel insurance policies to cover after it emerged earlier this week that some snow lovers were taking risks by skiing off-piste without appropriate cover.
Ms Whittaker suggested places in Italy such as Courmayeur, an attractive ski resort on Mount Blanc, where tourists could sample the Italian life at night while enjoying the ski fields during the day.
While most Britons think of Switzerland or Austria when they think of hitting the slopes, Ms Whittaker encourages UK holidaymakers to consider Italy when planning their next holiday.
