Winter skiers issued travel insurance reminder

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has said that taking out winter sports travel insurance is an absolute must for anyone planning on going skiing during the festive period.
Noting that medical facilities around many European ski resorts "aren't the cheapest," ABI spokesman Kelly Ostler said holidaymakers should make travel insurance a top priority.
"If you are taken ill, or break something when you're skiing then it could be quite expensive," she declared.
"Quite often the doctors and hospitals they have around ski resorts aren't the cheapest, so if you are thinking about doing that kind of holiday, you really need to think about how you would pay for your medical bills should something happen."
According to one recent study by esure, almost one in five jetsetters say they would consider not buying travel insurance in order to cut the cost of their winter sports holiday.
